Salaam! I just listened to your voice notes on PCOS through the instagram broadcast group. LOVED!

I would love to hear you talk about digestive complications. Especially around functional dyspepsia paired with a small hiatal hernia. Many doctors I’ve visited in the UK advise there is no fix, just a lifetime prescription of antacids! They explained that pretty much half of the population is on them and it isn’t really a huge deal!? I refuse to believe that or become reliant on medication. I had no idea of the digestive epidemic before my own recent experience. I have been working on managing through lifestyle and diet adjustment but many people turn to the drugs from desperation which I can absolutely understand. It can become incredibly tough even as someone who believes in alternative medicine/lifestyle changes to cure ailments. There’s no clear verified information on exactly what to do!

Your advice and guidance is always so enriching! Lots of love, Sabba x

WS WRB, Sabba! Thank you for being here and for listening to the PCOS voice notes :) I'm so glad they resonated with you. xx

Your digestive situation is frustrating, especially when doctors dismiss it as "half the population on antacids" as if that makes it acceptable. That normalization is exactly the problem. You're right to question it. Trust your gut ;) Functional dyspepsia with hiatal hernia is one of those patterns where Western medicine stops at symptom management (PPIs forever!) without addressing actual mechanics. Your body is telling you something and there are real ways to work with this beyond antacids. I'm adding this to my list for future essays. Metal season (fall) is perfect timing for this discussion as we're in the season of letting go, and many of us are struggling with our energetic digestive system is having trouble releasing and processing.

For deeper, more intimate health discussions like this, join us in The Reset Room (active soon!) as that's where we can go beyond general posts into more specific patterns and questions (more edu that direct medical advice, of course).

In the meantime, I have a feeling to recommend this book to you right now: check out Water Up Fire Down by Ilchi Lee. It offers a framework for understanding health concerns beyond the limited Western reductionist paradigm ~ exactly what you're likely looking for.

Glad you're here,

Aicha
